What to Expect
We will explore the vast wildlife-rich wetland, which is characterized by channels, Lagoons, Floodplains, and Mopane woodlands, On the Fourth Day, we move to the Khwai area of the Okavango Delta, to explore this Mosaic of the wetland by Mokoro, game drives which overlap in night drives, and offer an opportunities to see some nocturnal animals of Botswana.
You can book a lodge of your choice, so that you can fly and continue with your safari at the end of your camping trip or either fly to Kasane and then cross into Livingstone/Victoria Falls.
What to Expect
Day 1 - Traveling day from Maun to Xakanaxa
Once the guests land at Maun airport, they get into a Charter Flight, to fly straight into the Reserve And is about 30 minutes flight, once you land get in a game drive vehicle and start your safari as we are going towards the camp, this will give us an exposure to the area, as we are driving through different terrine, good chances to see, Eagles, Vultures, Little brown Jobs, Oxpeckers Impalas, Giraffe, Kudu, Antelopes, Zebras, etc.
Day 2, 3, & 4 - Days of Exploration
We start the day with an early morning weak up, do breakfast, and leave for the morning drive, with our hot box for tea, then we stop to stretch our legs but that will depend on how busy it is, with animals sighting. We will then do another drive after a short break as we will be going back to camp.
Once we get to Camp we will have Lunch and have Siesta then before the afternoon activity we provide water for Bush Shower, then which will be followed by the afternoon game drive, we get back to camp to have some prior dinner drinks as we will seating around the fire, listening to the different calls of Africa, and have dinner afterward.
On the second day, we do the motorboat cruise if the water level is high enough, and it’s an opportunity to explore the Okavango Delta's intricate network of winding channels as we look for different aquatic birds, Hippos, and stunning scenery that you won’t be able to view it when you are on a game drive, but if the water level is not high enough, we will do the morning drive to cover more different sort of landscape to look and look for more game. We get back to camp for lunch and siesta then have a shower before the afternoon drive.
On the last full day, we will have another morning and afternoon drive. Moremi Reserve has very diversified sorts of habitats, like riparian woodland, Floodplains, Reeds Beds, and permanent wetland, so every day will be different as they will be doing a different wide range of habitats on the daily basis, which means we will have better chance to see different animals species that prefer different areas.
What we are likely to see, Lions, Leopards, African Wild-dogs, Zebras, Cape Buffalo, Blue Wildebeest, Tsessebe Antelopes, etc.
Day 5 - Travelling Day from Moremi to Khwai Concession
We will start our day with a morning weak up call, and go on a morning drive after having breakfast, we drive around the general area of the camp as we wait for the staff to finish parking the whole camp and follow them heading northeast direction, driving through the ever-changing landscape of Botswana, and later on, we do picnic lunch along the way and get in Camp when the camp is ready, of which after picnic lunch it’s another drive before getting in camp.
Day 6, 7, & 8 - Morning drives
We will have Morning breakfast and go out for the morning drive, and we have the freedom of doing off-road where necessary, getting close enough to the special sighting and afternoon drive that overlap into a night drive.
Night game drive is a whole experience on its own and allows you to observe nocturnal animals, Like African Civet, Genet, Servals, Owls, Nightjars, Caracals, Honey badgers, porcupine, and Once we get to camp we will have our dinner.
The next day we do the short morning drive as we will be going towards Mokoro station, exploring the fingers of the delta using mokoro(Dugout Canoe) and it’s the only mode of transport that can be used to explore the shallow part of this part of Okavango Delta.
It’s a good chance to see the different bird species, like African Fish Eagle, African Open billed Stock, Jacanas, Crakes, Geese, African darters, Cormorants, as well Frogs, Aquatic vegetation like a water lily.
After the ride, we will get back to camp for the Lunch then siesta followed by the afternoon drive that overlaps another night drive again.
On the last day, we do the short morning drive as we will going towards the airstrip where you will meet your Charter Flight, And Fly back to Maun, and that marks the end of Safari. Should you will be flying to a Lodge you can fly from Khwai Straight to the Lodge without having to return to Maun.
